Happy Boxing Day!!!

Australia Celebrated the boxing day on 26th of December... Other countries like New Zealand, Canada, UK and some Commonwealth of Nation w/ mainy Christian population. It is also called St. Stephen's day one of the first martyr christian who stoned to death in Jerusalem on this date.

Boxing Day dates back to past centuries when it was the custom for the wealthy to give gifts to employees or to people in a lower social class, most especially to household servants and other service personnel. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boxing_Day)

No, it's not the annual day for boxers to hang out and beat each other up.

Nor is it the day that all breeds of boxers go out for their annual fun run.

It's also not the day everyone runs around town with nothing but their boxers on.

Or is it maybe the day that boxers, wearing boxers, take their boxers out for the annual fun run??? Hmmmm....something tells me not........(http://www.funfacts.com.au/boxing-day-origins/)

It's a shopping day!!! Shops will have this after Christmas sale and people are so busy shopping today!!! The Church too are busy giving gifts to charities :)

Everyone will be happy this day...

Summer Christmas in Australia

The Christmas here in Australia is not like the Christmas in Europe or America that you wear gloves, boots, jacket and layered clothings... You cannot see snowflakes falling or can make a snowman.. The Christmas season in down under is Summer... Everyone likes to go to beaches... You can make a sandman instead. Families love BBQs on their backyards or in the park... Well, the Christmas in the Philippines is in rainy season but of course we don't have snow there too so it doesn't make any difference.

Celebrating Christmas in Australia is on the 25th of December, usually people visits their relatives, exchanging gifts, having a great Turkey and Ham for lunch or dinner, Going to the beach w/ the family, BBQs, Beer, Champagne, wine and all other kinds of alcohol... =) Santa Claus is everywhere, in the malls, fastfoods and even on the streets :D Kids must be good coz Santa knows if you're Bad or good :) There will be a lots of gifts giving here in Aus... 26th of December is a special day in Australia, THE BOXING DAY!!!! It means you have to be ready for your credit card to max out! It's a SHOPPING day!!! so everyone's in the mall on this day...

while the Christmas in Philippines is really fun for me, When the month of December comes, you will be very busy celebrating the Christmas party every weekend... Like the office party, barkada party and another barkada party. also shopping for christmas gifts to inaanak means godson and goddaughters.. I had a pretty long list for that myself. We prepared ourselves on the 24th of December. There's a mass around 10:00 in the evening in the Church and will celebrate it w/ Noche Buena at 12:00mn of 25th of December... Then some peeps there will have firecrackers in front of their house.. that was the fun side... and the relatives too are all there... We have the manito manita thing like the exchanging gifts, Lechon, fruit salad, chicken salad, cake and of course Red horse for the teenagers.. haha Tuba for those who live in provinces... Tequila, Gilbeys, gin and etc... then on the day of Christmas, everyone walked up so late w/ hangover (for those who had much drinks) coz they've been celebrating it early... and it will resume on the arvo of Christmas day.. :D

Well in every country, there's a lot of difference on celebrating Christmas but one thing that's common is we're celebrating it for JESUS... HAVE A MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!

The new Philippine passport. It is a machine readable already. This is required for everyone for all member countries to implement the new passport before year 2010.

It incorporates the biometrics of the holder making it easy to identify the bearer and at the same time minimizes the instances of tampering and falsification. This shall ensure the integrity of the passport and greatly facilitates the travel of its bearer across the borders. Our machine readable passport embodies world class standards and is now at par with the standards of passport issued by the developed countries. It increases the credibility of the Philippines and better secures the identity of its bearer.

If anyone still have the green passport, it still can be used until expires but it is highly recommended to apply for the new passport. All applicants are required to appear in person when filing their application with the Embassy in Canberra. The passport production process will be done in Manila. 3 excited pinoy fans of Pacquiao died...

We had a get together in my uncle's place @ Ryde, NSW to watch the fight of Pacquiao live...
Everyone was so excited of the game... It started around 1:30pm... Everyone was shouting and cheering of Manny the Pacman. We even had a bet to make the game more exciting and enjoyable... =)

Pacquiao defeated Oscar De La Hoya on Saturday in their welterweight “Dream Match” at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas via a sensational 8th-round TKO that defied odds makers and virtually sent the Golden Boy into retirement. Poor baby face De La Hoya... :(

The too much excitement of Pacman's fans, three of them died in Philippines... 2 were from Minadanao and 1 from Visayas... they reportedly died of hypertensive and heart attacks after being overcome with joy over Pacquiao's success agains De La Hoya... This is quite a sad news...

To all the fans out there, Don't take it too personal.. Maybe because you bet something big on the game but please look after your health...

I hope Manny will take a visit of those who died...

Anyway, Congrats Manny!!! For more information visit Inquirer.net
